Helping you develop relational infrastructure with communities

DEEPENING CONNECTIONS

CULTIVATING IMPACT

Organisations wanting to effectively address the complex challenges that our communities face today need to begin with creating the conditions for relationships to grow.

WildRoots Strategic grew from the belief that public organisations need to be more strategic and brave in working with communities. A belief that greater impact and return on investment comes from more focus on nurturing healthy trust, aligning to walk alongside communities, and getting out of the warm fuzzies. A need to be intentional about relational infrastructure.

Why relational infrastructure?

Relational infrastructure refers to the social connections, interactions and collective intelligence that underpin an organisations ability to collaborate, solve problems, and drive change.

It’s what enables organisations to circulate ideas, grow trust, and demonstrate commitment with the communities they serve. Without strong relational infrastructure, even the most well resourced initiatives don’t function effectively.

Hey!
I’m Pete

Bridging relationship gaps is my thing

I’ve been working in the community and public sector for over a decade, and much of my career has focused on bridging the gap between communities and decision makers for more intentional and impactful shared outcomes.

I have observed, participated in and learned from the value of growing trusting relationships within diverse communities. From finding my feet as a leader within grassroots community groups, to becoming a community specialist within local governments in Aotearoa New Zealand and Australia, nurturing relationships has been key to success.

As a generalist, I help connect the dots that get overlooked in specialist dominated sectors. I regularly draw on my pre-local government landscaping experience to bring a practical systems thinking approach, being able to capture the bold big picture strategy while exploring the details of application in reality.

What others have said

  • Peter has the ability to draw out the deepest thoughts of those who need the time to think through and process what is set out before them. He was able to enhance the thoughts and words on paper so that we collectively produced a new purpose statement which we all had input into and had ownership of.

  • Our executive committee had new members and we asked Peter to facilitate a strategic refresh to bring the members together. Peter's lead was lively and engaging and enabled us to decide on five priorities that would deliver the most impact for our organisations vision. I feel we have made great progress in the six months since this meeting.
